This research focuses on how a Hackney Walk marketed as a catalyst for social and economic uplift ultimately exacerbated disconnection and exclusion. Instead of addressing systemic inequalities, Hackney Walk became emblematic of regeneration gone wrong, where surface-level beautification and market-driven strategies displaced local needs and businesses.

Once a vibrant maritime hub deeply rooted in collective memory and local life, Karaköy has been reshaped by top-down urban interventions that prioritize commercial interests, tourism, and global branding.

The proposal aims to revitalize the campus of the Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU) on the left bank of the Angara River, positioning it as a central attraction within the city's development plan. Currently, the campus is identified as a sub-center alongside the railway station. The plan suggests creating a compact campus to enhance interdisciplinary interactions and integrate various functions within a unified core.

It aims to preserve cultural heritage while supporting green growth, climate adaptation, and social participation.

1st Place | DYO & AURA Istanbul | Izmir, Turkiye (2021)
A design proposal was developed in Alan 3, located in Pazaryeri Neighborhood of Konak District, İzmir, by exploring the relationship between community identity, participatory design, and color. As part of İzmir’s Historic Route, the area has a significant historical background and is defined by surrounding squares such as Pazaryeri Square, Altınordu Sports Club Field, and Namazgah Pazaryeri Mosque. The design focuses on strengthening the relationship between these key locations and the neighborhood through inclusive, community-led interventions.

This submission reimagines Köprübaşı in Antakya through the lens of the traditional “Havuş” courtyard—transforming it into a flexible public space for gathering, memory, and resilience. By integrating ecological design, alternative mobility, and cultural references, the project creates an inclusive, walkable, and biodiverse urban environment that bridges past and present.

This project, [VACCINESIBLE], explores how to create accessible and adaptable health spaces in urban centers, particularly in response to pandemic-related challenges. Designed as a modular, single-floor unit with seven flexible zones, the structure prioritizes ease of access, familiarity, and safety—key elements in crisis situations. It includes smart hygiene systems, an info point, labs, vaccination areas, and a central core for vaccine storage. The design functions like a puzzle, ensuring efficient use of space while remaining responsive to shifting public health needs.

This studio project focused on the strategic development of rural settlements in the Lüleburgaz district of Kırklareli Province, Türkiye. As part of an interdisciplinary studio framework, we conducted a comprehensive revision of both the 1/100,000-scale Environmental Plan and the 1/25,000-scale Master Zoning Plan. The goal was to propose sustainable spatial strategies that align with the ecological, social, and economic dynamics of the region.
